The lovely snow in our front yard! Living in snow is a new experience for Stevie, but he seems to enjoy it! Since the sun was out, and its too easy to stay inside all day when its only 10 degrees out, we bundled up and walked the neighborhood. We waved to a couple neighbors out shoveling or blowing snow off their sidewalks, some digging out their cars (which we might have to do as well with our little civic). We noticed a couple nice hills, possibly good to sled down! and we found a neighborhood bar off the main roads. It was a nice little walk, and always good to return back home, warm up, and get some things taken care of, knowing you had a little bit of exercise and fresh air. The brick building in the picture is our place, Kountz Flats. We have the bottom level and basement, a full porch, two bedrooms (one serves as Steve's study, our movie/tv room, and guest bedroom), nice kitchen, dining room, and living room. It's a great place, lots of character, but a bit drafty, especially noticable in this chilly weather!
The snow 6 or more inches deep! It stays around too! unlike in Colorado, the sun's not warms enough or we're not close enough to it to melt it when its shining.

The way its been falling has been beautiful - soft, powdery, and like a winter dream! Apparently its not going to always be that nice, but for now i am enjoying it! And thank God for a city that is prepared for snow! the roads are swept and cleared before everyone wakes up in the morning and the salt on the roads makes the car a dirty mess, but at least it cuts down on the ice on the road! Omaha, you do a good job in snow removal!
We came back home after our Wedding/Christmas break in Oregon to find one of cars to have been towed because it was parked in the same spot for too long :( lame. Steve started school up right away, and I'm working most days out of the week, still at the downtown restaurant. It's been a fun adjustment into living with each other and as a married couple, dealing with things much more together than we have before. We love being married! One month into the rest of our lives, and we're doing great!
I've got more wedding pictures back and will be putting those up on the blog soon! and all those thank you's will be coming out soon!! You are all so generous and have helped us get settled much better. We've already taken a large target run, getting the essentials of life, including a crockpot, ironing board, queen size bedding (instead of the twin size quilts i was using!), and much more!
Until next time.... Keep warm!
I know I will be! I'm heading down to Vegas tomorrow with my mom and grandma for my mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Momma!
And soon, Steve and I will both be defrosting on the beaches of Puerta Vallarta! We found a great deal for an all inclusive, 5-day trip to Mexico during Steve's spring break! woohoo for second honeymoons!
